Rental time runs on the meter, not the calendar. Everything that can show up on your bill is listed below, before the machine leaves the yard.

One shift on the meter, 24 hours of possession. Best for a weekend tear-out or a one-day dig.

What it costs after tax
Rent it or buy it, the deduction is real.
Equipment is one of the cleanest write-offs in the tax code right now. The mechanism is different depending on whether you rent or buy, so here is both, plainly.
If you rent
Rental payments are an ordinary and necessary business expense. You deduct what you pay us in the year you pay it — the full amount, including delivery.

If you buy
First-year expensing is back and permanent. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act restored 100% bonus depreciation under Section 168(k) for qualifying property acquired and placed in service after January 19, 2025.

If it's a truck
Work trucks are treated better than passenger vehicles. Weight and bed length decide which rules apply to the vehicle you put on the road.
- Over 6,000 lb GVWR with a cargo bed of at least six feet: not subject to the SUV cap
- SUVs from 6,001–14,000 lb GVWR: capped at $32,000 for 2026
- Lighter trucks and cars: annual luxury auto limits apply
- Business use must exceed 50%

We run the I-25 corridor daily.
The yard sits in Cheyenne — under an hour to Fort Collins, about two to Denver, and straight up the interstate to Casper. If your site is off the corridor, we still go; it just changes the freight.
How freight works
Flat round-trip rate inside [X] miles of the yard. Beyond that, [$ PER MILE] each way. Same-day delivery on anything ordered before [CUTOFF TIME]; next-morning drops are standard.

Do I need my own insurance?
You need either a certificate of insurance with general liability and an equipment floater naming Wyco Builders as additional insured and loss payee, or our rental protection plan at [X]% of the rental. Send the COI once and we keep it on file.
Do you rent to homeowners?
Yes, on compact equipment — mini excavators, skid steers, compaction and tools — with a valid driver's license and a card on file. Larger iron goes to licensed contractors or comes with an operator.
Can I deduct the rental on my taxes?
Equipment rental for business use is generally an ordinary business expense, deductible in full in the year you pay it. Buying is different: purchased equipment can qualify for 100% first-year bonus depreciation or Section 179 expensing. Which route makes sense depends on your entity and income, so talk to your CPA rather than to us.
How is rental time counted?
By the hour meter: 8 hours a day, 40 a week, 160 over four weeks. Run more than that and the extra hours bill at the overage rate on your quote. Sitting idle over a weekend doesn't add hours.
What happens if a machine goes down?
Call the number on the door. Mechanical failure is on us — we fix it on site or swap the unit, and you don't pay rent for the downtime. Damage from misuse, abuse or running it out of fluids is on the renter.
Do you rent trucks as well as machines?
Yes. Dump trucks, water trucks, flatbeds, service trucks and equipment trailers go out on the same ticket as the machine, so you're not chasing two vendors to get iron onto a site.
Do you do long-term and rent-to-own?
Anything past 90 days gets term pricing, and we'll apply a share of rent toward purchase on units we're cycling out of the fleet. Ask what's coming available.
